Default Goal of the Season

So, I have seen a bunch of shows with options for goal of the season. Personally I think Van Persie's goal against Charlton is the obvious choice, as it is far superior to all the other goals, and no I'm not saying that just because I'm dutch.

In the sky sports goal of the season feature, this goal was of course included. It won the online poll, but I'm not sure if they made an official choice?

The other goals of the season thing posted was from FSC I believe, and they picked Taylor's goal, which is just silly. Sure, it is funny to see a really long range goal, but its just pure luck combined with the goalie being shitty/out of position. No player in the world would ever be able to score a goal from near the halfway line unless the goalie was out of position, and the goalie being out of position means the goal was not such a big deal.

I'm also wondering if MOTD/BBC had some kind of goal of the season thing? It seems kind of odd to me how they do a goal of the month thing every month, and then don't do a goal of the season feature as well? Wouldn't it make sense to do a goal of the season that includes all the goal of the months as the choices?

Anyways, what are your guys' thoughts about goal of the season?

Default Re: Goal of the Season

Match of the Day do have a goal of the season competition, every season.

I'm sure they were announced (maybe just shown) on the last MotD, I remember Jussi Jaaskelainen got save of the season, can't remember about the goal.

I'd also chose Taylor's goal over van Persie's, not silly, just opinion. not sure who I would say is goal of the season though, I'd probably have to see some again, I can only think of a handful.
